The Matisse Museum it is located on the Cimiez hill. The museum's collection makes use of numerous works by Matisse. The full-bodied collection of the Musée Matisse consists of 31 paintings, 57 sculptures, 454 drawings and prints, and numerous collages created by Henri Matisse from the late nineteenth century to the mid-twentieth century, as well as various objects belonging to the French artist. Very important is the Museo Massena , located in the beautiful villa on the Promenade des Anglais which in 1919 the villa was donated to the municipality of Nice and shortly afterwards was transformed into a museum.
